How Do Reusable Sanitary Pads Work?

Instead of throwing the pads away after each use like disposables, reusable pads can be machine washed, dried and used again and again. They last anywhere between 2 to 5 years and often even longer.

Each of our reusable sanitary pads is made of clever layers of material designed to wick blood and moisture away from your body, keeping you feeling dry and comfortable. 

Our pads have a soft, anti-odour layer of bamboo at the top, absorbent microfibre layers in the core and a waterproof bottom layer made from PUL to prevent leaks. All of our reusable sanitary pads are made with recycled materials where possible, and are completely non-toxic and chemical-free (unlike disposable pads which are full of nasty stuff).

Bamboo is a natural, sustainable material which is naturally anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and odour-proof. The bamboo blended top layer of our reusable sanitary pads is breathable, soft and stain-resistant. Our bamboo layer is made from partially recycled material. 

 

Microfibre is an ultra-absorbent material perfect to create the multi-layered absorbent core for our reusable sanitary pads. It will quickly wick moisture and blood into the pad, holding it there to keep you dry and comfortable for much longer than a disposable sanitary pad. Our microfibre is 100% recycled. 

PUL is short for Polyurethane Laminate. It’s a waterproof material yet it’s still breathable which means it won’t leave you feeling hot and sweaty on your period like disposable pads do. Our PUL layer is made from 100% recycled material and is completely stain-proof. 

Reusable Sanitary Pads are much better for your body as they are comfortable and chemical-free, plus they are so absorbent you’ll need to change your pad less often, even on your heaviest period days and nights.
